Neendakara Coastal Police Station was opened on 09.02.2009 by Sri. P. Chidambaram, Hon’ble Union Minister for Home Affairs, Government of India in the presence of Sri. KodiyeriBalakrishnan, Hon’ble Minister for Home, Vigilance &Tourism, Government of Kerala, Sri. S. Sharma, Hon’ble Minister for fisheries, Government of Kerala, Sri. N.K Premachandran, Hon’ble Minister for Irrigation& Water Resources, Sri. P. Rajendran, Member of Parliament, Kollam, Smt. NeelaGangadharan, Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, Government of Kerala and Sri. Jacob Punnoose IPS, Director General of Police, Kerala, Sri. M.R Ajith Kumar IPS, Superintendent of Police, Kollam vide G.O (Rt) NO. 3007/07/Home Thiruvananthapuram dated 7th November 2007 and G.O (MS) No. 17/2009-Home Thiruvananthapuram dated 06.02.2009. Police Station is now functioning in building No. 54, Ward No. V of Neendakara Grama Panchayath, KarunagappallyTaluk in Kollam City.

Jurisdiction and area of Neendakara Coastal Police Station

Government of Kerala vide notification GO (Rt) 3007/2007 Home dated 07.11.2007 have fixed the Jurisdiction of Neendakara Coastal Police Station as with the local area of Jurisdiction extending up to 12 Nautical Miles (Territorial water) of the coast of Revenue District and also over a small extend of Coastal Land.
