On bifurcation of Kollam District into two Police Districts as Kollam City and Kollam Rural Vide G.O No.(Ms) No. 64/2011 Home dated 26/02/2011. Kollam Sub Division was bifurcated into two Subdivisions named Kollam and Chathannoor. Chathannoor Circle consisting Chathannoor and Kottiyam Police Stations and Paravur Circle consisting of Paravur and Parippally Police Stations were detached from Kollam Sub Division and a new Sub division named Chathannoor formed. The office of the Asst. Commissioner of Police, Chathannoor started functioning wef.03.03.2011 as per notification No.G.O(MS) 65/2011/ Home dated 26/02/2011in the first floor of Chathannoor Police Station building. The office of the Asst. Commissioner of Police, Chathannoor started functioning in new building adjacent to Chathannoor Police Station wef. 04.03.2014 which is inaugurated by Sri. Ramesh Chennithala, Hon. Minister for Home and Vigilance of Kerala in the presence of Sri. K.S Balasubrahmanian.IPS, Director General of Police and State Police Chief, Kerala

The Office of the Asst. Commissioner of Police, Chathannoorstarted functioning in new building adjacent to Chathannoor Police Stationwef. 04.03.2014. All Police Stations and Circle Offices except Kottiyam is functioning in Government Buildings. Kottiyan Circle Office is functioning in KIP Building near NSS College, Kottiyam. Kannanallor OP in Kottiyam Police Station limit is also functioning in Panchayath sponsored Building near Kannanalloor Junction

In ACP Office Chathannoor telephone facility is available ( 0474-2590666) with one extension and One CUG SIM allotted to ACP Chathannoor (9497990022). Two low-band wireless sets are allotted. One is in department vehicle and another one in office. BSNL Internet connection is also functioning in ACP Office with email address- acpchnrklm.pol@kerala.gov.in

Vehicles with VHF Set are provided to all Police Stations and Circle Offices. All Police Stations and Circle offices are linked with District VHF and provided Land Phone connection with BSNL Broad Band. In addition to this CUG SIM cards are also issued to all SHO’s, CI’s and maximum Police personnel in Chathannoor Sub Division.
