The Kollam City Vanitha Police Station is now functioning in building bearing No.MC VIII/1619-789-B of Kollam Corporation in survey No.84/3 Block No.92 of Kollam East Village, Kollam Taluk Vide notification issued under G.O(Rt) No.887/2015 Home, Dtd 10th April,2015 published as S.R.O No.233/2015 in Kerala gazette Extra ordinary No.900 Dtd: 21st April 2015.
In exercise the powers conferred up on Section 14(1) of the code of Criminal Procedure (Central act 2 of 1974) , the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Kollam here by exercise the powers of the jurisdiction of Kollam Vanitha Police station with jurisdiction over the entire area of Kollam City Police District, provided by the law or any powers within which he/she has been invested by the Hon&rsquoble High Court of Kerala.
The Police station was inaugurated by Sri.Remesh Chennithala, Hon&rsquoble Minister of Home affairs and Vigilance on 28-09-15 at 1.30 pm.
SPC project is being implemented in G&VHSS Vellanad in 2012 & tribal HS Meenankal in 2014. First batch of cadets were successfully completed the training and they passed out in 2014. The training of 3rd & 4th batch is going on. SPC indulge in various social activities such as protection of Mother Nature, campaign against alcohol and tobacco.
